Scenario No.6 has been added to the Free Wargames Scenarios for the Horse and Musket Period page. This is a smaller game for a 4 foot by 3 foot table.

Another battle from my Fescennia campaign. The Arcadians are trying to break through a defile guarded by a small redoubt held by the Nemeans. They managed to do so in the end, but it was a see-saw fight. I played the game solo: the defence had only to hold the redoubt, so that made it easy to play the game that way. The figures are almost all old Hinchliffe 25mm French (Arcadians) or Prussians (Nemeans).

An aerial view of the battlefield.

The redoubt with its Nemean defenders - a company of light infantry
(Ostenprovinz No.1 Fusilier Regiment zu Fuss).

A regiment of grenadiers on the way to relieve the redoubt's garrison
(Sudprovinz Grenadier Regiment zu Fuss).

The Arcadian attack force - three regiments of line infantry and a foot battery
(1st, 2nd and 3rd Line and 3rd Artillery Battery).

A view down the length of the battlefield.

The Arcadian 3rd Artillery Battery (6pdr) deployed for action.

The Arcadian attack columns encounter a screen of Nemean light infantry.

The first assault on the redoubt.
The grenadiers just managed to reach the redoubt and exchange control of the position
with the light infantry.

Fighting at the edge of the woods.

The defenders putting up a stout fight!

Plenty of firing going on as another assault is prepared, with the Nemean light infantry
skirmishing with the Arcadian troops from the edge of the woods.

The Arcadian attack is repulsed in rout. The general rides forward to try and rally the unit.

The Arcadians finally capture the redoubt, the grenadiers fleeing to safety.
