Avrupan - Future Wars & Sci-fi Campaign

Avrupan is my sci-fi/futuristic wargames campaign. Avrupan is a world with a single, very large, arid/desert continent, the rest of the world being water with a few islands of varying sizes. The figures are 25mm Denizen Miniatures, the models are mostly Old Crow, the scenery is home-made (all sort of plastic boxes and containers for buildings and plastic aquatic plants!).
This has been the hardest of my campaigns to keep going as I have never really found a set of rules I enjoyed, plus I aimed too big to start with (foolish of me I know, but often the wargamer's vice!), and have had to revise my thinking on how the campaign should operate many times. I tried to aim for battalion level games, when in fact I should have accepted that company-size actions and smaller was far more suitable.
My next idea was to follow the fortunes of one unit within the context of a wider campaign narrative over a series of actions, allowing me to add 'extras' as it fights its way to a particular objective, but that petered out when I still did not like the rules I had.
So now I have revamped my background to the campaign and gone for an invasion from another sector of the galaxy Avrupan is in, the attackers being interested primarily in resource acquisition, with a high tech leadership and mid-tech troops. Also, I think I have settled on some rules I like - FUBAR sci-fi, with other online amendments I have found, as well as a few homegrown tweaks.
