I went to the Partizan show at Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire yesterday. As usual there was a wealth of demonstration games on show, nearly all historical, which it would be hard not to get some inspiration from as a wargamer. I particularly wanted to go this year as the Ardhammer Group were putting on a 1672-78 Franco-Dutch War game - the Battle of the Windmill. This was a fictional encounter, but included French, Dutch, Spanish and Imperial units, along with lots in little vignettes on a very big table. Rules used were Under the Lily Banners. Figures from Northumbrian Painting Services/Reiver Castings 28mm range. I was very impressed by it all, to say the least! Here are some photographs.

As for the rest of the games, I only took a selection of the ones that caught my eye, and I did not note the clubs or themes, but here they are. I am sure other blogs will have lot more details.

It was a very show, very busy until after lunch, then easier to wander around. I was restrained with my purchases and keeping to my small budget. Hopefully, I will get to the Other Partizan at the same location later this year.
