I have been doing some work on a commander and unit for the Duchy of Hesperides, one of the minor countries in my Fescennia Campaign; it lies within the Southern Confederation. My idea is that its ruler is a traditional sort of chap so his troops still wear a uniform style of the late 18th Century, rather than the Napoleonic style of the main continental powers. Also, he hires out his troops, rather than getting directly involved in the political rivalries of the main states. The figures for the unit are Warlord Games 25mmm hard plastic Spanish Napoleonics. Very easy to paint and they come complete, so no fiddly sticking together like some of the Perry Miniatures, although not as detailed as the latter. One officer figure is a conversion; there are never enough officer figures in hard plastic boxes, I find. The general figure is from Colonel Bill's 25mm metal items.

(next on the list of "to do" items!)

The 1st Line Infantry Regiment. The uniform is green with red facings, to match the national colours. The standard is home made, using a stock image off the internet; it looks okay at a distance!
